Prescott National Forest
3 min, 1.7 miles
White Spar Campground, in the Prescott National Forest, is just south of the inn on Highway 89, with loop trails into the pines.
Goldwater Lake
10 min, 4.9 miles
Two small lakes in the forest off Senator Highway. Kayak and canoe rentals on the upper lake, trails and picnic spots around both. $5 parking, no swimming.
Thumb Butte
12 min, 4.5 miles
Prescott's landmark butte on the west side of town. A short, steep trail with big views over Prescott.
Watson Lake and the Granite Dells
14 min, 6.6 miles
Granite boulders around green water. Paddle between the rocks, scramble, or walk the flat Peavine Trail through the Dells.
Lynx Lake
17 min, 8.1 miles
A forest lake in the Prescott National Forest with an easy walk along the shore.
Granite Basin
23 min, 10 miles
A small lake below Granite Mountain, with trails into the Granite Mountain Wilderness.

Jerome

The old copper mining town on the side of Mingus Mountain, over the pass on 89A. Galleries, shops and tasting rooms on steep streets.
Verde Canyon Railroad
1 hr 9 min, 42 miles
A scenic train ride out of Clarkdale through the Verde Canyon. Book tickets ahead.
Cottonwood
1 hr 12 min, 44 miles
Old Town Cottonwood is a walkable street of tasting rooms and restaurants. Easy to pair with Jerome on the same day.
Cornville and Page Springs
1 hr 16 min, 60 miles
Wineries along Oak Creek on Page Springs Road, including Page Springs Cellars, Oak Creek Vineyards and Javelina Leap.
Sedona
1 hr 28 min, 70 miles
Red rock country. Go through Jerome and Cottonwood on 89A and make a full day of it.
Flagstaff
1 hr 44 min, 97 miles
A mountain town at nearly 7,000 feet, up I-17. Cooler air in summer, snow in winter.
Grand Canyon South Rim
About 2.5 hours, 129 miles
North through Williams. Leave early, make a long day of it, and be back in the pines for the night.

VINO Wine Bar is on the property, steps from the rooms. Pour a glass before you head out or when you get back.
For a full wine day, the Verde Valley is close: tasting rooms in Jerome and Old Town Cottonwood, and wineries on Page Springs Road in Cornville.
